A mysterious, very old solicitor Mr. Blunden visits Mrs. Allen and her young children in her squalid, tiny Camden Town flat and makes her an offer she cannot refuse. The family become the housekeepers to a derelict country mansion in the charge of the solicitors. One day the children meet the spirits of two other children who died in the mansion nearly a hundred years previously. Quotes

Mr. Blunden: Do you think you'd be afraid if you saw... a ghost? These ghosts would appear to you very much like ordinary people... children of your own age, or even an old man, such as myself.

Excellent Family Feel-Good Movie!
20 August 2005 | by (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) – See all my reviews

This movie worried me at first with a bit of a slow start, but it quickly changed into a wonderfully imaginative fairy tale. The characters are very good and the acting feels the period. Grahm Crowden from the British Sitcom "Waiting for God" does a very good job as well.

Everyone should give this one a try.

The concept is very intriguing and holds your interest well. I really loved the idea surrounding the ghosts and how they got where they were. The story is really one that I would love to share with my whole family.

This one feels like a Dickens Narrative due to the time period it is set in, which adds to the overall feel and believability.
