Storyline

A pair of plainclothes homicide detectives, Lt. Mike Stone and Inspector Steve Keller, cruise the streets of San Francisco solving a variety of crimes, usually involving murder. Stone is the street-smart 20-year veteran cop, and Keller is the college-educated rookie. Much of the series' success was due to the friendly by-play and relationship between the two leads. Trivia

Following the success of producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Michael Douglas left the series at the beginning of the 1976-77 season. His character's absence was explained by having him take a teaching position. Inspector Keller taking a teaching position is similar to a scene in Dirty Harry where an SFPD Inspector injured in the line of duty stated that he had a teaching credential and later became a college professor (which was stated in the sequel, Magnum Force as well as the third sequel The Enforcer. A Plea to bring Streets of San Francisco back to viewers
19 August 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Please make a DVD package available for Streets of San Francisco!! This series was one that our family dropped everything to sit and watch together. Drama, suspense, great characters and plot lines and clean language all wrapped up in a 1-hour weekly show. How could you miss having a faithful audience? In 1973 my infant daughter became a (family) star on the episode titled "Most Feared in the Jungle." How many moms can say that they met Karl Malden and Michael Douglas, who commented on how cute the baby is?? I would LOVE to have a copy of it, along with the rest of the series.

To whatever powers that be, I sincerely request that Streets be put on DVD. Thanks for listening!
