Great idea but...
6 November 2002 | by (Jacksonville. FL) – See all my reviews

Pairing Scooby and the gang with famous people to solve mysteries is a great idea but suffers a lot in the execution. A few episodes are great (I loved the Sonny and Cher one due to some great dialogue), some work due to common interest (Batman and Robin and Don Knotts) and some don't work at all. Some of the poor episodes feature musicians, a group that you think would work well with the gang. Jerry Reed? Josie and the Pussycats? I thought the Cass Elliott episode was funny and liked Sonny and Cher so it's fifty fifty with me. Other "guests" like Jeannie are way out of place. At least the makers had the common sense to use Don Knotts twice and the Globetrotters three times, though even that's a stretch. The animation is also often way substandard. I enjoy pretty much everything that is Scooby Doo so I can watch and enjoy the New Scooby movies, even though they're pretty average.
