Storyline

The 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital is stuck in the middle of the Korean war. With little help from the circumstances they find themselves in, they are forced to make their own fun. Fond of practical jokes and revenge, the doctors, nurses, administrators, and soldiers often find ways of making wartime life bearable. Nevertheless, the war goes on, Written by Murray Chapman <muzzle@cs.uq.oz.au>

Goofs

The social attitudes about race, sexism, homosexuality and class that were expressed by characters in the series were those of post Civil Rights/post- Vietnam eras when the series was filmed, not those of the early 1950s when it was set. As the series continued, it began to resemble a modern drama rather than a historical re-telling of earlier events. See more »

One of a kind
6 January 2000 | by (Ardmore, PA) – See all my reviews

M*A*S*H is truly a one of a kind show. It combines both comedy and drama to form a rare type of show that comes along maybe once or twice every decade. You know, the ironic thing is that the series itself lasted more than three times as long as the actual war. M*A*S*H will always have a life in reruns.
