The show had just begun production shortly after "Family Affair" was cancelled in 1971. Some months after production began, Brian Keith learned that fellow star Anissa Jones (who played "Buffy" on "Family Affair") was having problems finding work in Hollywood and he offered her a no-audition, guaranteed role on the show. Jones later replied to Keith and told him she no longer wanted to work in television.See more »
