"Disney Infinity" is probably the last Disney video game we'll ever need. Really, the folks at Disney Interactive absolutely nailed what the Magic Kingdom, as a whole, is all about -- imagination, wonder, and fun. Though it skews young, between 6 to maybe 12 year-olds, "Infinity" gives players every tool they'll need to play make believe with some of the most beloved characters in Disney's roster. That said, if you're a parent or a Disney fanatic, prepare to feel it in the wallet.
There's no denying the similarities between "Disney Infinity" and "Skylanders." The device used to digitize your figure is nearly identical to Activision's toy-meets-game crossbreed but despite the functional resemblances, the games differ greatly. Instead of an overarching plot, each set comes with a clear holocube that signifies a particular universe. The starter pack has a three-in-one cube featuring Monsters, Inc., Incredibles, and Pirates of the Caribbean along with a representative figure from each world. »

Our excitement for E3 has grown from light simmer to full boil as the big event grows closer, and one of our most anticipated games is a first look at Disney Infinity. The upcoming mash-up of Disney properties with collectibles and game action has us freaking out more than Dash Incredible - and this first look at one element of the E3 Booth, courtesy of Disney themselves has us even more excited:
Yup, that's a life-size Cinderella's Coach/Monster Truck mash-up, with John Vignocchi - Executive Producer of Disney Infinity - at the... Wheel? Controller? Whatever he's at, we want to be at it, too. The idea, according to the Disney folks, was to show in a very physical way the cohesiveness in the game between how kids play in the living room, letting their imaginations fly; and letting that exist in the physical world. So why not a Cinderella's Coach Monster Truck? »
Well, technically not actually gender-swapped since both Link and eternal damsel Zelda are still Link and Zelda. But Diaz has come up with a pitch where Zelda is "an aspiring battle mage" while Link is a sheltered prince unaware of the turmoil in his kingdom in "The Legend of Zelda: Clockwork Empire."
Aaron Diaz is the creator of "Desden Codak," a webcomic featuring, among other things, a dimension-hopping robot girl and Tiny Carl Jung.
Diaz says he was inspired to create "Clockwork Empire" based on the work of games critic and documentarian Anita Sarkeesian's "Tropes vs. Women." Explaining the story, Diaz says:
Clockwork Empire is set 2,000 years after Twilight Princess, and is not a reboot, but simply another iteration in the Zelda franchise. It just so happens that in this case, Zelda is the protagonist. I’m a very big Zelda fan, and worked hard to draw from key elements in the continuity and mythos. »

The "Black Ops II" update to its zombie mode gets a story trailer, revealing the sordid stories of the four mobsters imprisoned on Alcatraz with a horde of zombies.
Besides seeing a polygon-perfect representation of Chazz Palminteri in action, the trailer also shows off some of the environmental hazards which both players and their zombie attackers will have to deal with on the island prison. We also get a glimpse at an armored super zombie, something you don't really expect to see in the 20's, but hey, it's fine.
The "Black Ops II" Dlc "Uprising" will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on April 16.

"Terminator" star Michael Biehn Confirmed for the "Far Cry 3" 80's-style spinoff, while "Flashback" receives a 20th anniversary re-release and "Cloudberry Kingdon" offers up a fractured fairy tale as Ubisoft lays out some of their downloadable titles for 2013.
First up, the one you're curious about: "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" is a standalone title starring Michael Biehn as a cyborg commando on a mission of revenge. This one, which we've been following with an admittedly heightened level of frenzy since the first details leaked (or "leaked") out, is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on May 1. PC preorders will get the soundtrack by artist Power Glove for free.
The official synopsis:
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon lets players get the girl, kill the bad guys and save the world in a VHS-era vision of the future! As Sergeant Rex Colt, you are part man, part machine, all American. »

The only thing better than a great April Fools' joke is a great reverse April Fools' joke. When many first saw the logo of "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon", they immediately recognized the many 80's-inspired stylistic flourishes, raising questions on how this related to the actual "Far Cry 3" game. Well, it's real, it has Michael Biehn as Rex Power Colt, and it's coming in fast, out May 1st on Xbla, Psn and PC. I got considerable hands-on time with "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon", and while it is a reskin of "Far Cry 3", it's a brilliantly executed one. It's an homage to 80's action films not just in references but also in attitude, a time when it felt like there was an R-rated release every week. For those of us who still have "Far Cry 3" controls in our muscle memory, there's practically zero reorientation time needed. That includes the knife kills, »

Please refer to last week for part one.
When last we met…
Off to Gertz we went! Gertz was the department store back in the day. When we got there my mother walked right to the toy department and brought me Captain Action and the Batman and Superman costume changes.
At that point I had to wonder, who was this woman and what had she done with my mother.
This was entirely way to good to be true.
As I would find out soon it certainly was.
I found out later that, what was a great Saturday turned crappy, why my mother was so quick to buy me Captain Action, which I just knew, was the last thing I would ever want or need.
My stepdad (who at the time I thought was my real dad; long sad story) told my mother earlier in the day he would not be »
