Anachronisms 

A modern bridge and vehicles can be seen outside the drugstore window near the greeting cards rack. It is also seen when Hermie and Oscy are conversing outside the drugstore.

The movie playing in the local theatre was Now, Voyager which was released on 22 October 1942.

When Dorothy drops her grocery bags in front of the store, we see a 1970s blue Rice Krispies box among the items that fall out. In 1942 Rice Krispies were housed in a white box.

Continuity 

The boys, the "terrible trio", are walking along the beach after Hermie's first encounter with Dorothy. Her house is in the background. After a while, the scene cuts and they are back where they started.

While waiting outside the drugstore, Hermie's breath can be seen, although it's supposed to be the middle of summer.

When Dorothy is drinking coffee with Hermie in their introductory scene, she holds the cup in her right hand, with her left hand elevating the saucer under it (British formal tea style). But the reverse angle shows her holding the cup with both hands and the saucer has vanished.

Revealing mistakes 

The scene directly after Dorothy removes her underwear, the camera pans up her bare back and her regular underwear for shooting the scene can still be seen on her.
