Sex & Nudity

  • A few kisses between a husband and wife.
  • A woman being interviewed by police is dressed in a skimpy dress that reveals her panties, bare thighs, and most of her breasts.
  • Mild reference to prostitution during some dialogue that is heard in the background of a brief scene.
  • Mural of nude female seen through window of a worker's union building.
  • Little boy found with girlie/porn magazine. Adult who finds it is just amused.
  • Porn magazine shown. The cover depicts a naked black woman holding a sheet to her breasts and groin.

Violence & Gore

  • Several shootings in which blood is shown.
  • Several characters beaten up. Mostly gut punches and kicks. Punches to the face and ears, etc. Little blood shown.
  • Character tortured to death. Murder not shown nor heard, merely mentioned after being viewed at the morgue. The body isn't shown in this scene either, it cuts to the next scene. Later their body is found floating in the bay.
  • Woman's body found floating in the bay after it gets caught in a boat's propeller. No blood or explicit gore shown, but her body is hooked out by the boater and her face is seen; very pale and glassy-eyed.
  • Man shot in car. Blood and brain matter splatters on back windshield and person travelling with him.
  • Several characters shot. Blood shown in some cases, especially when one character is wearing a white shirt and you can see the blood spreading.
  • Two characters sniped from rooftop. No explicit gore shown, but you see their bodies drop and blood splatter on the asphalt.
  • Police check on a badly shot man to see if he's alive. No explicit gore, but plenty of bright red blood.
  • A man is hit by the car that's chasing him. It hits and breaks his leg and his head hits the windshield of a parked car. He survives, and is later shown in hospital with his leg in an emergency splint and deep, bleeding cuts across his cheeks and forehead. He's high on pain-killers and babbling.
  • A man gets knifed in the stomach. It's shown still in his gut with blood spreading across his shirt.
  • A man's trousers catch fire after a subway worker drops his blow-torch from the scaffolding (it looks intentional, but is never commented on). It takes a while to put out the fire, and his leg is badly burnt (not shown). Later, he visits someone who says he should go to the hospital. They offer to give him first aid, but imply that the material is melted into his skin and insist he goes to the hospital (mainly to stop him from questioning them, but also out of concern).
  • A man is slugged with a large rock as he climbs over a fence. He drops to the ground and it's uncertain if he's unconscious or dead.
  • A cop is shot in the stomach by a drug-dealer. He's eventually seen being carried off on a stretcher. It's uncertain whether or not he survives.
  • A man's dead body is found at his desk. He's been shot in the head and there's blood dripping from the large wound and blood splatter on the wall behind him. He's later seen being carried off on a stretcher with a sheet covering him.

Profanity

  • A few uses of "son of a b***h" and "b***h".
  • 5 uses of bast***, 1 of crap, 7 uses of d**n, 7 uses of hell outside of religious context, 4 uses of various iterations of "screw you/yourself", 1 use of sh** (barely audible because the man is washing his face), 4 uses of son of a b**ch, and 16 blasphemies in various forms.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The film is about heroin smuggling, so there are several scenes depicting heroin in bags. Also several instances in which characters are shown drinking alcohol.
  • It's mentioned that a man is high on opioids. He's been hit by a car and it's referring to the pain-killers he was given by the hospital.
  • Heroin is discussed and shown in several scenes. Several characters taste the heroin to check its quality. Some characters appear to be high at one point.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Lots of blood, car chases, shooting, fist fights, knife or gun fights, and the gore that can be expected with that. Blood and brain matter shown after one character is shot.
  • A woman is chased in her car by men working with the mafia. She's quietly terrified most of this scene, but eventually becomes hysterical, increasingly so as they corner her and break in her car windows. She does not survive this encounter, but the results are not shown, only mentioned in passing.
  • Several car chases involving either cars chasing cars or cars chasing people.
  • A man is chased from his home over fences in a neighbourhood after he knifes a man. He's eventually chased down and hit by a car.
  • A man's trousers catch fire and it takes him a while to put it out.
  • A woman's car windows and windshield are smashed in by two men with a 2x4 and a metal pipe or bar. She's screaming hysterically throughout this scene.
  • A woman's tortured body is found in the bay, bloated and glassy-eyed.
  • A man is found dead in his office. The co-worker who found him is disturbed. His body gets carried out with a sheet over it.
  • A gate is blown up. Much fire and a loud explosion.
  • The movie starts with a group of people wearing masks that distort their faces. The scene is creepy and a little nerve-wracking as their behaviour is very menacing and unpredictable.
  • A man is threatened to be thrown out the window of a high office building. At one point they dangle him out the window by his feet. He's hand-cuffed and has duct-tape over his mouth. You can see the tape bulge as he tries to scream.
