A tragical story of a viscount based on historical characters
The main character Viscount Görgey shoots accidentally the Major of the City Löcse on a hunt. Based on old customs, the grounds of the Viscount are marked with the blood of the Major. The City headed by a newly elected Major Fabricius claims these grounds from the Viscount, offering a reward for his head, and the Towns Council decides: the whole town shall wear black for mourning the deceased Major, until the Viscount is not executed. The only daughter of the Viscount using an other name - is on the way to a girl's school in the City of Löcse. During the way she meets and falls in love with the young Fabricius. The story ends tragically as the Viscount is not allowed to meet before the execution with his daughter, and the young Major Fabricius faints, as he gets to know, who the daughter is
