A pair of pop-oriented songwriters--melodist/singer Bobby and tone-deaf lyricist Lionel--try to eke out a living in the Los Angeles music scene. They live (along with Bobby's younger sister Jennifer) in an antique shop, and Bobby works on the side as a recording engineer until he and Lionel get their big break. Rita was their friendly landlady, and Rudy her cop boyfriend. Written by Marty McKee <mmckee@soltec.net>
When this show first came on, my teen-aged cousin forced me to watch it so she could get her Bobby Sherman fix. I became fixated on the hearse they drove. When I later bought a hearse, I became a fixture in my town. Guess this series fixed me! Seriously, if you liked the Partridge Family (admit it, we all did), you'll probably like this one too, provided it ever gets dug out of the archives and put onto DVD. It's unlikely this will happen, though, it only ran for one season and in retrospect, it must have been pretty unsubstantial if the only thing I remember from the whole season was the cool hearse and my parents telling me that I'd never own one.
