Storyline

Dr. Simon Locke was a handsome young physician who moved to the small town of Dixon Mills, Canada, where he set up practice with his curmudgeonly older mentor Dr. Andrew Sellers. Louise Wynn was their nurse, as they treated crime victims, abused children and a variety of diseases, some serious, others not so. In the second season, Dr. Locke left Dixon Mills, Dr. Sellers and Nurse Wynn behind for the big city, where he joined the police emergency unit and received a new boss in former Dixon Mills cop Dan Palmer. Palmer was later replaced by Lt. Gordon, as Locke investigated a number of crimes associated with the patients he was treating. Written by Marty McKee <mmckee@soltec.net>

Better than Watching a TV Test Pattern, but Not Much...
30 December 2002 | by (Tampa, FL) – See all my reviews

One of the lesser remembered or liked syndicated shows of the early 1970's.

I recall this show in it's guise as 'Police Surgeon', on American TV. Fairly typical 'The Doctor as Detective' plot line, with no major surprises. Different, as it was set in Canada, and not some big US city.

I read that Jack Albertson wanted out of this program as soon as he could be released. He complained about the cheapness of the show. Several 'History of TV' books just rake this show over the coals, as plain B-A-D!

Sam Groom has gone on to better things, and appears in a few 'Law and Order' episodes.
