A soldier of the Red Army named Sukhov has been fighting in the Russian Civil War in Russian Asia for many years. Just as he is about to return home to his wife, Sukhov is chosen to guard and protect the harem of a guerilla leader (Abdulla). Did You Know?
As the white army officer from Abdullah's band gets thrown out of Vereschagin's window he says "his grenades are all wrong" which has become a popular saying in years after the movie. This line was improvised and was not in the script originally. See more
