along with 'deliverance', i'd rate this as one of burt's finest artistic achievements. this is a beautiful and touching tv film which i only saw once as a kid over 30 years ago yet still remains for me one of the finest tv efforts ever made. it's still etched in my memory and i'd be only too happy to see it sometime again! heartfelt and highly recommended.
