The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Rated PG for Intense War Violence and Language.

(Today's rating) Rated PG-13 for intense prolonged sequences of war violence throughout, action, brief sensuality, smoking and language

One of the gags involves the men asking where to find "broads."

One of the men mentions that he thinks he might have crabs.

A reference is made to finding dirty movies.

Reference to rape.

Violence & Gore

Typical, but moderate, war movie violence

There are 55 curse words, including 1 abuse of "Christ," 2 abuses of "God," 3 additional times when "God" is paired with the 'd' word, 15 times when the 'd' word is used by itself, 33 instances of the 'h' word, and 1 use of the 's' word. A handful of times the word "mother" is used where one might expect the 'f' word to immediately follow, but it doesn't. There are also 7 minced oaths (words used in place of curses which are less offensive).

Beyond these, there are 18 crass words, including 6 uses of 'a**', 5 of "crap," 2 "son of a bitch," 2 "bitch," 2 "up yours" (once in writing), and 1 "bastard."

One of the characters (Oddball) is shown relaxing and drinking wine a couple of times with no drunkeness or bad behavior depicted. Another character (the German Colonel from intelligence) is shown to be very drunk to the point of slurring and passing out after Kelly encourages him to drink a lot of liquor in order to obtain information.

Big Joe is shown smoking a couple of times.
