Similarities are first off the Donald Sutherland character, and in Kelly's Heroes he's always saying that you need to think positive, he says the same thing in The Italian Job. He's also going to steal gold in both movies. And finally, in both movies, when they're figuring out the value of the gold bars they count wrong first (in Kelly's heroes 1.6 million becomes 16 million and in The Italian Job 2.7 million becomes 27 million.)
