A long time ago a senior officer, survivor of Dien Bien Phu and the Viet Minh camps told me he cried when he watched this movie.
If I didn't it's probably because I had already lost all tears, but it certainly brought back memories... Viet Nam is there, bare. By the way, Hoa Binh besides being a town in the North also means democracy.
