Most known for his role on 'Medical Center' as Dr. Joe Gannon, Chad Everett lost his life to lung cancer on July 24. Chad Everett, who spent 40 years acting in Hollywood, has passed on. So sad!  Chad Everett died in Los Angeles at his home on Tuesday, July 24. Everett's daughter passed along the news that he died after a year-and-a-half battle with lung cancer. Not only did Everett star in Medical Center but also many TV series including Murder, She Wrote, Without A Trace, and The Love Boat. His most popular movie appearances include Melrose Place,  Psycho, The Firechasers and The Jigsaw Murders.  Everett is survived by his six grandchildren and two daughters. He was married to actress Shelby Grant for 45 years until her death last year. Chad Everett, who starred in the 1970s TV series Medical Center, died today at his home in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reports. Everett’s daughter tells the AP Everett had battled lung cancer for more than a year. He was 75. In a career that spanned more than 40 years, Everett is best known for his role as sensitive Dr. Joe Gannon in Medical Center. He appeared in all seven seasons of the show that at the time tied with Marcus Welby, M.D. for longest-running medical drama. The role earned him two Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination. Everett was born in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from Wayne State University. He eventually moved to Los Angeles and became a contract player with MGM. His film credits include David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, The Jigsaw Murders, The Firechasers and Gus Van Sant’s Psycho.
