This movie is a riot, a wonderful anti-commercial. Blank got the commission to make a movie about a chicken farm, and he used the commission to make a spirited, subversive piece about industrialization, the South, and farming. Not a gory expose of industrial farming, it's good-spirited subversion, guaranteed to leave the room in stitches. Plus a fab bluegrass soundtrack moving things along. I also recommend Blank's other shorts, "Blues Accordin' to Lightnin' Hopkins" and "Dizzy" (about Dizzy Gillespie) as well.
