I could not disagree more with the previous reviewer about "Sin", which is the on-screen title of the copy of this film that I own. Raquel Welch exudes a credible, earthy sexiness in this film that is separate and apart from her usual bikini-clad sexbomb image, although the director's attempts to downplay her beauty obviously failed. She has almost no dialog for the film's first half, but in the film's latter half she gets the opportunity to deliver the kind of respected performance she never received in her American made cheesecake features. It is a shame more people have not seen her work in this film. By contrast, the brilliant yet troubled Frank Wolff, who is usually so good in his roles, seems a little flat here, but knowing his suicide was only a year away could explain his apparent distraction. Hopefully the fact that his character makes a relatively early exit in this film was not was caused life to imitate art. As for the film itself, it is very well-acted by the remainder of the cast, beautifully photographed and obviously well researched and made with the kind of accuracy given to detail that is indicative of a careful, skilled director and production team.
Obviously someone liked this film, as four years later Luigi Scattini remade "Sin" with Leonard Mann, Enrico Maria Salerno, Carroll Baker and Zeudi Araya (in Welch's role) as "Il Corpo" ("The Body").
