No one likes it boring
19 April 2007 | by (Denver, Colorado and Santiago, Chile) – See all my reviews

This is a pretty lame British sex comedy about a young lothario who drives around in his car and unaccountably manages to seduce a whole bunch of women (it is kind of suggested eventually that the whole thing is just his fantasy, which frankly makes a whole lot more sense). Being set in 1960's London this movie has a little bit of kitsch value, even though it is nowhere near in the class of "Cool It, Carol", "Goodbye Gemini", or its two most obvious models--"Blow Up" and "Alfie".

Most of the film is pretty tame and boring, and they even use obvious body doubles for most of the nude scenes even though there almost are no name actresses in the cast except for Madeline Smith (who is not one of the conquests but plays the pretty young daughter of one). The exception to this is the infamous Collinson twins (later in "Twins of Evil")who not only do their own nudity, but appear together in a surprisingly graphic lesbian sex scene! For me the whole twin fantasy is already pretty weird to begin with (and it unfortunately anticipates the supposedly sexy clichés of recent idiotic beer commercials and dumbass "lad" magazines like "Maxim"), and here it's taken to perverse lengths. Still the naked charms of the Collinson twins are probably worth the queasiness of this scene, but they are definitely NOT worth enduring the rest of this stupid movie.

In 60's style the sex scene are often cut with brief montages of meat being chopped up in a butcher's shop. This is eventually explained (sort of) at the end, but it is also a pretty ironic commentary on the (usually) faceless and interchangeable "pieces of meat" that appear in this movie.
