The TV show that Harrington refers to in an attempt to fool Inspector Russell is a clip from Mario Bava's own _Black Sabbath (1963)_ - specifically the "Wurdalak" sequence featuring Boris Karloff.
In certain foreign releases of the film Stephen Forsyth's character is re-named "Oliver Barrington." This may be due to distributors feeling that the name "John Harrington" was too generic for the character.
Originally the script didn't include the character of Mildred Harrington. It was only after Laura Betti expressed interest in working with Bava that the director re-wrote the script so that Betti could have a suitable starring role.
According to star Laura Betti while shooting at the villa in Spain numerous policemen kept watch during filming because there were concerns that fake blood might stain the floors of the villa.
