In one episode, Rutger Hauer dislocated his shoulder jumping from a castle into a moat. Years later, during the filming of Flesh+Blood (1985), Paul Verhoeven was astounded by the actor's refusal to do any stunts.

The series was canceled early because director Paul Verhoeven went over budget and many of Gerard Soeteman's scripts remained unproduced. Several of these were adapted as a newspaper strip by Gerit Stapel and some of them ended up being filmed for the German remake, Floris von Rosemund (1975).
