Peter Sellers stars as Harold Fine, a self-described square--a 35-year-old Los Angeles Lawyer who is not looking forward to middle age and his upcoming wedding. His life changes, however, when he falls in love with Nancy, a free-spirited, innocent, and beautiful young hippie. After Harold and his family enjoy some of her "groovy" brownies, he decides to "drop out" with her and become a hippie too. But can he return to his old life when he discovers that the hippie lifestyle is just a little too independent and irresponsible for his tastes? Written by

Did You Know?
This was not a happy period in Peter Sellers
's life. He was miserable working in the U.S. and furious that his second wife, Britt Ekland
, had signed to make The Night They Raided Minsky's
(1968), which was filming on the East Coast while he was working in Hollywood. As a result, he acted out on the set a great deal. At one point, he was convinced the crew hated him and was leaking unfavourable stories about him to the press, so he tried to have them all fired. See more
In the beginning of the movie Peter Sellers is driving his black Lincoln Continental. When he stops for a traffic light a cream colored 4 door 66 Chevy Impala or Caprice with a black vinyl top pulls up behind and one lane to his right. The view switches to Sellers viewed through the windshield and the car has changed to a 2 door cream colored 64-65 Chevelle convertible with a white top. See more
