Interesting film and theme
1 October 2014 | by See all my reviews

An American former member of the "International Brigades" "David Foster" (Mark Stevens), comes to Barcelona for a medical conference. Once in the city, try to find "María" (Manuela Vargas), a nurse he met during the Civil War.

Director Jaime Camino starts the issue of civil war in his career by taking a situation that takes place during the economic growth of the 60s in Spain and where changes are emerging in a society that has little to do with the 30s.

Subsequently Camino continue using the Spanish Civil War for films like "Las Largas Vacaciones Del 36" 1976, "Dragon Rapide" 1986, "El Largo Inverno" 1992, and documentaries like "La Vieja Memoria" 1977, and "Los Niños De Rusia" 2001 The film is showing successive scenes in which the protagonist remembers places and events that marked him deeply during the war, and eventually end up affecting him her feelings. It is very interesting to visit his old friend companion in arms "Manuel Oliver" (Luis Serret), which resides in a Nursing, the conversation between the two.

The film, despite the usual difficulties with censorship, could be released. It is a very interesting subject to actual scenarios from the 60s in a previously unknown joins Barcelona.
