Melissa Fumero is the Secret Weapon of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

26 September 2014 10:30 AM, PDT | Speakeasy/Wall Street Journal | See recent Speakeasy/Wall Street Journal news »

One of last year’s breakout sitcoms was Fox’s cop comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and for good reason: it’s one of the funniest shows out there. Andy Samberg plays bumbling man-child detective Jake Peralta, who works out of the 99th precinct in Brooklyn. Alongside him is a wildly talented ensemble comedy crew, including Joe Lo Truglio (“Reno 911,” “Wet Hot American Summer”), Chelsea Peretti (“Parks and Recreation”), and Terry Crews (“Everybody Hates Chris). 'Transparent' creator Jill Soloway on her great new Amazon series

26 September 2014 7:00 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

This morning, Amazon released the entire first season of “Transparent,” a great new dramedy starring Jeffrey Tambor as a transgender woman coming out to her family and beginning her full gender transition at an advanced age. As I said in my review, it may take me a little time to finish the rest of the season, given what a busy »

The episode centered around a therapy session Rusty has with Dr. Bowman (played by the out Bill Brochtrup), and Rusty’s coming out is told through a case the Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
