You Only Live Twice (1967) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Four women in bikinis bathe Bond and Tanaka. Both are shown frontally nude in a pool, but the lighting and the water makes genatalia indistinguishable.

Bond tears a woman's dress down the back. One of her buttocks is exposed.

A woman's nipple is shown half outside her bikini, and later her nipples can be seen inside and out of her top for about four seconds as she moves. Her nipple also pops out again later for about two seconds, partially for one second, and then for two again. All of this is very easy to miss and would probably not be spotted by most.

Frontal female genatalia.

Sexual innuendo.

Violence & Gore

Bond fakes his death at the beginning of the film. The bed sheets are stained with blood.

Final action scene has a huge bodycount with many shooting deaths, no blood shown.

Characters are fed to man-eating pirahnas, but this is implied only; we see bubbles in the water and that's about it.

Character is poisoned and chokes to death.

Blofeld's hand is cut with a ninja throwing weapon. Bond kills a man with a throwing star.

A man is stabbed in the back; he dies.

Bond incinerates one helicopter and shoots missiles into others.

People are killed by explosions.

Profanity

1/10

3 uses of "hell" and 1 use of "damn."

3/10

It is said Bond smokes, but we only see this once. A Japanese thug smokes a cigar. One of the gadgets is disguised in a cigarette.

Just a couple of scenes in which Bond drinks vodka, sake and champagne, sometimes with other characters (Tanaka, Osato). The Siamese one he stole from Osatos mini-bar even disgusts him.

3/10

Bond fakes his death at the beginning, which may startle some viewers.

In the climax, the villain's rocket is about to capture another American space capsule, which would trigger a world war, while Bond and his Japanese allies battle in the villain's secret base to stop it.
