Trivia | The egg-breaking plant features in the film as a bit of a joke--or yolk (sorry! couldn't resist that one). In fact, "S Behr and Mathew" was a major business in its day (the company was dissolved about the time the film was made), importing eggs from China for over 40 years and breaking 300,000 eggs per DAY, by hand, mostly for bulk sale to the catering trade.
