Theatrical, talkative, cliched and seriously boring. The actors are
to watch, the jokes are old and production values low. This film proves
comedy really is the hardest genre of them all.
The highpoint of this mess is a two minute parody of "For a Few Dollars More", in which the protagonists try to pose as famous bounty hunters to get the bounty money in advance.
Released on video in Finland in the early eighties...
Mother and I saw this one night on the late show. It was the late
sixties; there was nothing else to watch in those days of three
channels and lots of snow.
I have to say, we were utterly charmed by"Rebels on the Loose," believing it to have been made by some Italian naif who really thought all American Southerners were called "Ringo."
What a disappointment to discover this movie was meant to be a parody. Took all the campy fun right out of it.
Mother still doesn't believe it. She says nobody could have made such a turkey on purpose.
