So the end really is now in sight. Nine years, seven films and one more due out next year, cinema audiences have followed the exploits of Harry Potter since 2001, watching him and sidekicks Ron and Hermione battle basilisks, dark wizards, giant spiders, dementors, dragons and Severus Snape, amongst the many obstacles that have faced The Boy who Lived.
There is sadness in seeing such a successful and much-loved franchise ending, a series which has always remained thoroughly grounded in its British roots and showcased the talents of some of our greatest thespians in a variety of cameo roles.
But surely no one can more anxious about post-Potter life than the young stars of the films. The cherubic, cute kids presented to the world’s media many years ago are now all adults and facing the tricky prospect of forging a career outside the cosy world of Hogwarts. The path ahead »

Following the exhaustive international "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" press tour, Daniel Radcliffe might have the chance to sneak a few Z's.
Or not. The kid has a jam-packed schedule of projects lined up that will keep him busy for the next few years. That means even after the "Potter" franchise is done, you'll have the chance to see Radcliffe on stage and screen for a long time to come.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2"
The franchise isn't done, remember? Production wrapped up this past summer, and the film is set to hit theaters in July. Will it be in 3-D? What will Radcliffe look like as a 40-something adult in the film's much-discussed epilogue? »
Midnight Thursday (Nov. 18) marks the beginning of the end for the "Harry Potter" movie series with the opening of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1." So if you're one of the series' three stars, were do you go from here? We have some thoughts.
Look, we know that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint don't really need our advice. They seem remarkably well-adjusted for three young people who have been the center of the most successful movie franchise ever for basically half of their lives. Kudos to their parents, their handlers, the rest of the "Potter" cast and crew, and especially to the three of them for coming through the past decade as likable, sane, scandal-free young adults.
But the end of "Harry Potter" series is a big milestone for all three actors. They all have work lined up for after "Deathly Hallows," and we wish them long and fruitful careers as adults. »

It only took one episode of "Glee" for Darren Criss to become an instant fan favorite and potential full-time castmember, but he finally got to live his teenage dream Monday night at the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" red-carpet premiere in New York.
Before he ever was involved in "Glee," Criss had achieved viral fame for the YouTube video he put together with his friends, "A Very Potter Musical." The fan musical has garnered more than 3 million views since it was posted in 2009 and is one of the more beloved "Potter" parodies.

The Boston Legal star, who is a five-time Emmy Award winner, has only ever starred in off-Broadway productions, but will make his first appearance in the iconic New York theatre district as company mogul J.B. Biggley, who gives Radcliffe's window cleaner character his big break.

Tim Appelo recaps Mad Men's Season Four finale (packed with Spoilers, needless to say). I am not the only one drooping with disappointment that my fave series is going into hiatus. Sigh. “A secretary is not a pet, nor an erector set,” they sang in the 1961 Robert Morse musical How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying--but try telling that to Don Draper. In Mad Men’s jawdropper fourth-season finale, he drop-kicks his brilliant, drop-dead gorgeous girlfriend Dr. Faye Miller and pops the question to his secretary du jour, Megan –better known as “Who the hell is that?” (as Roger Sterling blurted when Don announced the engagement). Draper secretaries come and go like Spinal Tap drummers, but Megan turned a one-night stand into a giant »

In fact, Nelson Reilly died shortly after the filming of this movie, just out on DVD. The film is literally his last performance.
But what a performance — and what a legacy.
Unless you were gay in the 1970s, it's hard to understand the very weird phenomenon of flamboyant, coded-gay comedians like Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly, both of whom were most famous for being "television personalities" who appeared on game shows and talk shows.
How was it that these comedians were allowed to so wildly camp it up in an era when homosexuality wasn't discussed and an actor's career was over if he came out? The bargain they made with the world was »

A Thief Catcher (Keystone, 1914), featuring a previously unknown performance by silent comedy star Charlie Chaplin, will have its west coast re-premiere during the 46th annual Cinecon Classic Film Festival at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood California over Labor Day Weekend, September 2-6, 2010
Chaplin is officially credited with appearing in thirty-five films during his year at Keystone in 1914, but he claimed in various interviews that he had also played bit roles as a cop and a barber while at the studio--but he did not name the films, and although there has been some speculation about the possibility of additional Chaplin-Keystone appearances, none has turned up until now. Film collector Paul Gierucki found a 16mm film print in a trunk at a Taylor, Michigan, antique store last year. "I could tell it was a Keystone comedy, »

It is being reported by Entertainment Biz! (yeah, we’d never heard of them either) that Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter himself, is alledgedly “keen to get involved” in “Jay And Seth Vs. The Apocalypse”, the long touted collaboration between Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel. The young actor apparently being asked to audition for the movie despite production on the movie not due to start until late 2011 at the earliest.
