Seeking winter shelter, the Pink Panther enters Zammo the Great's house while the magician is away, and the panther discovers a mischievous rabbit that leads him through a series of phantasmagorical phenomena, including a mobile door with stairs that change from ascending to descending, depending on what position the door is at in relation to the floor, a tilted will picture that, when straightened, causes the whole house to tilt, a deceptive, two-way mirror, and a subjective, psychedelic hole in the floor. One of the wildest Pink Panther cartoons and certainly one of the best and most entertaining
Most of the Pink Panther cartoons are good but The Hand is Pinker than the Eye- what an inspired title!- is one of the best/great ones. The animation is some of the most colourful and most inventive of any Pink Panther cartoon, while it is wonderfully wacky the simple elegance is still maintained too. The music is still infectious and it has a jazzy nature that appeals even now and works/ed wonderfully within the era too. The story is one of the more original ones of the series, and has great wild pacing that doesn't feel rushed and matches the wackiness of the gags and visual style. The gags are clever and hilarious too, The Hand is Pinker than the Eye personally has always stood out as one of the more consistently funny Pinky Panther cartoons. Pinky as you'd expect is likable and is a cool character with comic timing that comes across as very natural. The scenario does well for him. In conclusion, wonderfully wild, colourful and hugely entertaining, one of the best from the Pink Panther. 10/10 Bethany Cox
