Elvis Presley had so much debt in early 1967 due to his purchase of a Memphis ranch with up-to-date equipment that his manager, 'Colonel Tom Parker (XI)', had to sign the contract for this movie in a hurry so that Elvis could get his one million dollar fee. This was the last time Elvis would get the magic million dollars.
Although this film was set in Miami, Florida, Elvis Presley's scenes were all shot in and around Los Angeles, California. All the Florida exteriors were shot in wide angles, using doubles and look-alike impersonators for Presley.
Elvis' red sports car in the film is a one-of-a-kind 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray concept car. Originally silver in color, this car was the design inspiration for the "C2" generation of Corvettes (1963 - 1967), which took the name "Stingray" from this vehicle.
Anita Mann is the one of the main dancers (sporting orange striped pants), and also the assistant choreographer, for this movie and "Speedway". Better known for dancing with Monkee Davy Jones in the video for "Cuddly Toy".
