Sex & Nudity

  • The amount of nudity in the film is surprisingly minimal.
  • The main character watches a video box of a woman stripping, her breasts are briefly visible but mostly covered.
  • A shop is shown with sexy underwear and some pictures of nude women can be seen on the walls of the shop - some bare breasts visible.
  • Partial nudity visible on some works of art in the library. An older female character seems to be offended and somewhat traumatized by this.
  • Nude female mannequins visible in a scene near the end of the film, however they are very undetailed.
  • Sex is mentioned and discussed at a number of points in the film, but never in detail.

Violence & Gore

  • Very little violence.
  • A party visited by the main character and his date does play some violent "killing" scenes from horror movies, but these are actually quite campy and obviously fake.

  • Minor cursing at a few points in the film - hell, damn, bitch, slut, tramp
  • The main character's mother regularly refers to many younger female characters as "tramps" or "sluts."
  • At one point a negative racial slur towards African Americans can be seen on a city wall. The main character contemplates its meaning and does say the word out loud. However, this is relatively tame and the character never actually thinks any negative thoughts about them - he never calls anyone the word in question.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The main character's best friend is a drug user. He is seen taking pills (which he says are just aspirin), smoking, holding a joint (no one smokes it), and snorting something from a small tube.
  • The main character begins smoking and at one point takes the "aspirin" pill his friend offers him. He is not seen getting high or anything of the like.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Aside from some somewhat intense dramatic moments throughout, there is nothing overly frightening here.
