Leonardo DiCaprio's Animal Trafficking Drama Gets 'Mission Impossible' Writer

14 August 2014 5:07 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Will Staples, who was hired in May to write Mission: Impossible 5 for Paramount, has been brought on by Warner Bros. to write their Untitled Animal Trafficking Project, which has Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Tom Hardy attached to produce.

We first reported on the project back in August 2012, when it was announced that the actors will all produce and possibly star in this drama, which has been compared in scope to Traffic. The story will dissect the animal trafficking industry where animals are killed for body parts used in several different illicit trades, which bring a hefty price on the black market in China. The plot is set all over the world, spanning from shark poaching in the ocean to big game in exotic jungles, with characters such as corporate executives, a lowly poacher, and several others all involved in the trade.

Watch: 'Curious Alice,' a Bizarre Movie from the '70s That Used 'Alice in Wonderland' to Warn Kids Off of Drugs

The U.S. National Archives tagline tells us Alice ultimately concludes that drugs are bad, but the film’s moral message is rather hazy...

WWE: 7 Reasons Owen Hart Should Never Go Into Hall Of Fame

1 April 2014 12:42 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

On May 23rd, 1999 Owen Hart was dressed as the Blue Blazer and suspended nearly 80 feet above the ring by a cable that would lower him down for his match. Somehow, his release opened and he fell tragically to his death, hitting the ropes before collapsing back in the ring. It was a horrific and sad night, compounded by the fact the PPV continued even as Owen was rushed in vain to the hospital. He would be pronounced dead that night.

Every year around WrestleMania time wrestling fans will start buzzing about Owen Hart and the WWE Hall of Fame. Many feel that Owen Hart should finally be inducted with the likes of former greats like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and even his own brother Bret. Many feel that he would be at home with this year’s class including Razor Ramon, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Lita.
