The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

At the very beginning an erect penis is shown for less than a second. If you blink or aren't looking you could miss it but it is easy to see.

A 4-person orgy is described. Usually, it is in mild terms, but there's some graphic dialogue, such as a woman taking a boy "into her mouth", and "coming."

Two women are seen in swim suits. No nudity.

In a series of extremely quick and surreal shots, a sheep bleeds out, followed by rapid shots of what can be assumed to be the sheep's innards. This is followed by a close-up of a nail being driven through a bloody wound in a human hand.

Two women slap each other resulting in a bloody nose.

A monk is shown burning himself alive on television.

A woman cuts her wrist with her own fingernails, drawing blood. Another woman places her lips on the arm and sucks the blood from it. The woman with the cut wrist then starts violently slapping the other woman several times.

"God damn", "coming", "breast".

Two women enjoy cigarettes and drink wine together.

One of the characters is watching TV and it shows a monk burning himself alive.

None of the adult content in this film is that graphic, as it's old and in black-and-white. Still, the film itself has a very haunting tone and adult themes. It could be very disturbing/unsettling to young viewers.

Suggested MPAA Rating: R for sexual references and some disturbing images.

Recommended for 15 and up.
