Storyline

Marco, a young, arrogant art student, is friendly with Timothy, a medical student, and Sarah, his girl friend. Timothy is dominated by his beautiful mother, Carol, who is divorcing her husband. Marco finds a studio apartment, and Timothy pays the first 2 months' rent, planning to move in with his friend. Carol prevents the move, and Sarah, who has fallen in love with Marco, moves in instead. During a party at her weekend cottage, Carol becomes furious when she finds Marco and Sarah making love in Timothy's room, and she orders Marco from the house. Later, Marco seduces Carol and then scornfully leaves for the party. He arrives drunk, accompanied by a streetwalker, and tells Sarah how he took Carol to bed. Written by alfiehitchie

An Oddity for Film Buffs
20 April 2004 | by (Los Angeles, USA) – See all my reviews

The great Kim Stanley had been cast in the Jennifer Jones part and like so many times before, Kim Stanley was replaced at the last minute. The year is 1966, Daniel Petrie, a director without a clear, personal vision, he renders homage to some of the truly greats of its day. Antonioni comes to mind. As an interesting piece of trivia, take notice of Michael Parks. He was Adam in John Huston's "The Bible" and the sheriff in Kill Bill Volume 1 and a double role in Kill Bill Volume 2. The Idol, is one of those pointless films that becomes a sort of guilty pleasure with the passing of time.
