Good Spaghetti Western about habitual vengeance, 3 July 2005
Author: ma-cortes

The movie deals with a sheriff (Franco Nero) who leaves his work in Texas and along with his young brother(Albert Dell'Aqua) go to Mexico to revenge the death their father . There , they take on a baron land(Jose Suarez) and henchmen (Livio Lorenzon, Jose Guardiola, Hugo Blanco). They're only helped by an advocate at law (Luigi Pistilli).

It's a typical Spaghetti Western in which blends the common scenarios ; as invincible and tough antiheroes, difficult and fast showdowns with numerous deceases , impulsive and quick zooms , musical score with Morricone influence . The picture has a certain remembrance to ¨Once upon a time in the West¨(Sergio Leone) regarding the avenging theme, there're even some flashbacks about father's death , similar to previous film . Besides, set decoration by Carlo Simi ,the same of both movies . Also has resemblance with ¨Django¨ (Sergio Corbucci) referring to Franco Nero personage with similar interpretation and clothes . The picture was shot in Almeria(Spain), location that during 1960-70 years were shooting hundreds Spaniard-Italian western. Cinematography by Enzo Barboni or E. B. Clucher (author of ¨Trinity series¨ with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer)is correctly made. The motion picture is accurately directed by Ferdinando Baldi (Blindman). The pic will appeal to Franco Nero fans and Spaghetti Western buffs. Rating: Nice and good. Well worth seeing .
