7 uomini d'oro (1965)

G | | Crime | 18 March 1966 (France)
One of the best intrigue/caper movies ever made! Delightful is the perfect word to describe this film that is full of sci-fi gimmicks, plot twists, slick and not-so-slick criminals, and gorgeous dames. Podesta is a 100% bonafide KNOCKOUT!

Trivia

It was illegal to film a bank robbery in Switzerland, so director Marco Vicario used a fake script when shooting in front of "Credit Suisse" in Geneva. See more »

Delightful caper film
12 April 2005 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I was lucky enough to catch this on DVD in Japan of all places, as the previous reviewer indeed mentioned that's about the only place you'll actually find it! Unfortunately it's either in Italian or English dubs minus the subtitles, never the less it was well done with actors attempting regional accents. This film truly seems to be a forgotten classic, rivaling anything like the original Italian Job, Topkapi or How to steal a million. Full of twists, smart criminals, dumb criminals, glamor, cheesy 60's "technology" and a catchy soundtrack. Essentially it's about a brilliantly planned and executed robbery of a gold depository in Switzerland. The problem is, how do you get several tonnes out gold bars of the country? The fun is finding out for yourself! Highly recommended. 7/10
