Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

The main character is a rapist and one of the movie's major themes is the "continuity of the blood". That being said, no explicit nudity is shown.

Violence & Gore

Strong violence throughout the picture.

Coffin Joe starts a bar fight by stabbing a man's hand with a fork. The latter's friend tries to confront Joe, but gets beaten up and whipped repeatedly.

Coffin Joe kills a woman by letting a spider bite her.

Coffin Joe knocks out a man with a bar, then drowns him.

Coffin Joe beats up a woman savagely and rapes her.

A canary dies off-screen.

A woman commits suicide and is seen hanging from the ceiling.

In the movie's most graphic scene, Coffin Joe stabs a man's eyes with his fingers and then sets him on fire.

Coffin Joe smashes a crown of thorns into a man's face. Blood is shown.

Two dead bodies are revealed, in a very gruesome fashion.

In the movie's finale, Coffin Joe is seen lying on the ground with his face horribly disfigured. He survives, as we find out in the sequel.

Profanity

None.

Coffin Joe is often seen smoking a pipe. Some characters drink.

Despite the low budget, the entire movie is very intense, especially the last scene. Not for kids under 15.
