‘Loving’ Exclusive Featurette: Jeff Nichols Explains ‘Transformative’ Power of Joel Edgerton’s Lauded Performance — Watch
Lauded indie filmmaker Jeff Nichols finally entered bonafide awards bonanza territory this year with the release of his historical drama “Loving,” which garnered star Ruth Negga her first Oscar nomination, in addition to Golden Globe nods for both the Irish actress and her co-star Joel Edgerton.

Edgerton, it seems, is becoming something of a Nichols regular — and just ask Michael Shannon, Nichols is very good to his regulars — having starred in both of Nichols’ 2016 releases, including both “Loving” and “Midnight Special.” In fact, it was Edgerton’s work on the sci-fi drama that convinced Nichols he was the right actor to portray the gruff protagonist of his feature, Richard Loving. It’s a role short on lines (Richard wasn’t much of a talker), but long on emotional resonance.

In a new featurette from the film,

5 Times Steve Harvey’s Advice Was Spot On

Steve Harvey is a master at giving advice, whether solicited and unsolicited. His show focuses on solving the problems of the everyday American, especially women.

Every day, he invites women of all ages to his talk show and answers their questions about love, life, and relationships of all kinds. Much of the time, he just makes fun of the questioner or brushes her questions aside while he pursues his own agenda.

But sometimes, he actually says something worth using. Here are some of Steve Harvey’s best pieces of advice.

Start Investing

During one of his shows, Harvey decided to forgo straight relationship advice and look at something everyone’s interested in: money. He invited 34-year-old Tim Sykes onto the show to talk about how he personally made millions through investing.

By taking $12,000 from his bar mitzvah money, Sykes was able to earn $70,000 from penny stock investments, which he later turned into a million dollars.

Looking: trailer for the HBO movie is a bittersweet delight

Feature-length special looks to tie up loose ends from the show centered on a group of gay friends, while serving as a reminder for how strong the series was

“It’s impossible for this show to tick all of the boxes in what everybody would want to see,” Looking star Jonathan Groff told the Daily Beast, before HBO’s first “gay show” launched its second season. “But the great thing about doing a gay television show is that the more it stays on the air, the more stories you can tell.”

The sentiment is now sadly ironic: months following the interview, HBO cancelled the series due to poor ratings.

Review: ‘No Stranger Than Love’ Has a Hole Where Its Heart Should Be
Everyone wants Lucy Sherrington. Well, every man wants Lucy Sherrington, and in the world where Nick Wernham’s “No Stranger Than Love” takes place, that’s enough to create an entire character (and drive a good chunk of a film’s narrative). From her teenage art students to her bosses, from a local cop to the old man at the hardware store (who snarls, “You make a man growl, that’s all there is to it!”), everyone wants Lucy Sherrington, and damn if they don’t feel like it’s a-okay to say so.

‘Looking: The Complete First Season’ DVD Review

When I first watched Looking on television, I will admit that it didn’t hook me and I moved on to other things. The first episode just didn’t seem to have that spark that I was looking for to keep my interest. Now with the release of Looking: The Complete First Season though I decided to give it another chance, and I’m glad I did.

Looking focuses on Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Augustin (Frankie J. Álvarez) and Dom (Murray Bartlett) three best friends all Looking for love. Patrick is the main focus of the show as the less grounded of the group as he flits between potential partners looking for the right man, or just random dates for the night. When he finds Richie (Raul Castillo) he may have found ‘the one’ but when his new boss Kevin (Russell Tovey) enters the scene even though he is in

Paul Williams Debuts a Love Song He Wrote for Elaine Stritch (Exclusive Audio)

Paul Williams Debuts a Love Song He Wrote for Elaine Stritch (Exclusive Audio)
Last year, legendary songwriter Paul Williams wrote a ballad for Elaine Stritch after he saw an early cut of the documentary, “Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me.” The ode, “Looking for Love in the Dark,” was inspired by a scene in her film, where Stritch talks about her late husband, the actor John Bay. Williams decided to explore that relationship in his melody. “I had a real connection when she talked about her husband, that she was made for this man,” recalls Williams, whose credits include “Evergreen” (from “A Star is Born”), “We’ve Only Just Begun” and the Muppets classic “Rainbow Connection.” “There was such an acceptance of him being gone, and the love that survived the ages.”

Stritch was supposed to belt the song at the end of the film, but after her health deteriorated, she was never able to get back into the studio. Williams attended Stritch’s last
