Interesting Setting but Plot less and Banal

Fascinating at times for its little glimpses into the hip fringes of East Berlin life in the sixties. The whole plot (if you can call it that) centers on a not so young young man and his wistful clinging to his adolescent group as he breaks up with his beautiful wife. She never smiles, never responds, never shows anything except a sullen indifference to him. The whole movie makes no sense because of this. If he was a total ne'er do well that would explain it - she wants a mature husband with a good job but he actually DOES have a good job. He is very sweet, attentive and good looking. See if you can figure out where this unfinished film was going. The E. German censors might have done the filmmakers a service shutting this film down. The film makers had next to nothing to say. Trite. Does manage to imitate the nouveau vague feel.
