After being kidnapped and blindfolded, Rock Hudson is driven past a lake with a gaggle of geese nearby. He later thinks this was the sound of the guests at a cocktail party - until he retraces his route and discovers the actual source of the sounds. Rock Hudson and Claudia Cardinale look for her brother while falling for each other
"Blindfold" is an enjoyable suspense-romantic comedy carried off very nicely by a professional team with a good script. Rock delivers his lines beautifully. Claudia does too while being beautiful. At one point when he tells her they're no longer engaged, her expression shifts instantaneously. She's good at swift mood changes. Jack Warden is reliable as an NSA agent who has recruited Rock to treat Claudia's brilliant scientist brother, Alejandro Rey. Guy Stockwell and his crew is out to kidnap Rey. Other comic elements include Brad Dexter as a cop and Anne Seymour gets some sharp lines as Rock's secretary. Rock's a psychiatrist known to the press who gets involved and engaged to one woman after another. Cardinale looks to be the real thing for him. Lalo Schifrin provides good thematic music. The picture has a "Universal" sixties thriller look to it, and that's a plus. Not perhaps as suspenseful or as villainous as some other movies in this vein, this one is on the lighter side. Lean back and enjoy.
