In the year 1997, Earth is suffering from massive overpopulation. Professor John Robinson, his wife Maureen, their children (Judy, Penny and Will) and Major Don West are selected to go to the third planet in the Alpha Centauri star system to establish a colony so that other Earth people can settle there. They are to go there on a ship christened the Jupiter 2. However, Doctor Zachary Smith, an agent for an enemy government, is sent to sabotage the mission. He is successful in reprogramming the ship's robot, but in the process becomes trapped on the ship, and because of his excess weight, the ship and all on board become hopelessly lost and it now becomes a fight for survival as the crew tries to find their way back home. The Robot identifies itself in Lost in Space: The Ghost Planet (1966) as "Robot Model B9, designed and computerized as a mechanized electronic aid for Earth voyagers engaged in astral expeditions." in answer to the ID query from Supreme Prototype of all Cybernetic Machines. This is the only time the model number "B9" (a homophone for the English word "benign") is ever used in the series, but many if not most toy collectors, modelers, blueprint makers and other fans refer to their creations as Robot B9 or B-9. This cult classic will always remain a world show! With its exceptional Sets & Vehicles!-The Jupiter II , Chariot & Space Pod. Lines said like "You Traitor!" will always remain fun for the globe to enjoy -said by the nefarious , Loveable villain Dr. Zachary Smith. I would strongly recommend buying a 3rd season episode -watch it and see if you like it. I wish there was a TV show like "LIS" around today. It means alot to many people around the world
