The Twilight Zone” is gaining momentum at Warner Bros., which has tapped Christine Lavaf to pen the screenplay for the sci-fi tentpole.

Warner has been developing the project since 2009. The last major development came in 2013 with “Oblivion” director Joseph Kosinski in talks to helm the project with Anthony Peckham writing. Previous writers have included Rand Ravich and Joby Harold.

The Twilight Zone” is set up at Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way where DiCaprio is producing with his partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran.

The Twilight Zone,” created and hosted by Rod Serling, ran as a series on CBS from 1959 to 1964. The show melded fantasy, science-fiction, and horror elements with Serling serving as the exec producer and writing or co-writing 92 of the show’s 156 episodes along with delivering monologues at the beginning and end of each episode.

John Landis’ 1983 feature “Twilight Zone” had four separate storylines. Warner Bros. has been developing the movie »

Donald Trump Shakes Up the Emmy Talk Show Race, As Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, and Trevor Noah Get In The Game

As host of “The Apprentice,” one thing eluded Donald Trump: an Emmy. The fact that the Television Academy never awarded him one drove Trump — whom you might know is now the President of the United States of America — completely bonkers.

Trump wanted an Emmy bad enough that he went on the Hollywood campaign trail in 2008, taking trade newspaper reporters (including, um, this one) to lunch in an attempt to curry attention and grab a win for “The Apprentice.” But that was in the middle of “The Amazing Race’s” hot streak. Ultimately the closest Trump came to Emmy glory was singing the “Green Acres” theme with Megan Mullally on stage at the 2006 ceremony.

It’s a bit ironic, then, that Trump may play a hand in which shows are nominated — and ultimately win — this year’s Emmy for Outstanding Variety Talk Series.

Ranking Amazon's 2017 Spring Pilots: The Good, the Bad and the Genuinely Wtf

20 March 2017 7:44 AM, PDT | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

Another season, another batch of Amazon pilots – it's the gift that keeps on giving. In the spirit of a true democracy (feel free to add your own cynical popular-vote joke here), the streaming service will offer up a number of first episodes for maybe-possibly future shows. The audience gets to decide what series should get full orders. You may get the next Transparent; you may get a burning pile of trash. Regardless, it's the viewer who gives these would-be TV classics the thumbs up, thumbs down, or sideways-thumbs-across-the-throat gesture. You »
