It's a good mystery, one that has you Scratching your head a few times.

Jack Heath is almost implicated in a murder case, his beautiful wife is being blackmailed.

This is very different to almost every other episode I've seen in this series, this one is a more complex mystery than I've seen so far, it's almost a whodunnit, there is definitely an air of mystery.

The plot itself is a little complex, I wasn't sure whether we were chasing a blackmailer or a killer. I did watch this one a second time, as I got a little muddled first time round. It is watchable however, and the outcome is pretty satisfying, a little more Durbridge than Wallace.

It's really interesting to learn that this film was released as a second picture to Carry on Spying, one of my favourites, I can imagine that had people laughing out loud, and this gave them a sense of intrigue.

It's quite a nice looking production, it looks pretty good, some of the dialogue is just a little bit clunky at times.

I really did enjoy Jack Watling's performance, such a nice actor.

6/10.

Who WAS Maddox?

Warning: Spoilers
A more than usually convoluted Wallace plot, starting with a burglary that isn't a burglary. Jack Watling has a beautiful, boot-faced ex-model wife who is being blackmailed - there's a great scene at the Zoo where she hands over a diamond ring. Watling has married the boss's niece and been given a seat on the board, where he does nothing but criticise and try to drag the firm into the 20th century. The boss is Finlay Currie. There's a mysterious phone call saying that Currie is dead - Watling goes round but finds Currie as lively as ever. Are there two blackmailers? Where does the secretary fit in? Why does she have a foreign accent and a habit of standing much too close to whoever she's talking to? I think I fell asleep at this point.
