A tiger escapes from a circus truck as it passes by a small town, and hides itself in the surrounding woods. This throws the town into a panic and everyone wants the animal killed immediately, except for the daughter of the sheriff. She wants to capture the tiger and put it in a zoo, thereby saving the tiger's life. Her determination starts a nationwide campaign among children to raise the money to buy the tiger from the circus, but first, she, her father and an Indian tiger trainer must find the tiger before the National Guard do, who have orders to kill it on sight. Josef Pietz: You've seen nobody handle Tigers. When I handle them they'll do things you wouldn't believe.
Ram Singh: You would not last 2 minutes with the Tigers, they can tell when a man is afraid.

Tough, no-frills Disney drama
27 April 2001 | by (las vegas, nv) – See all my reviews

Escaped tiger causes friction in a small town between the sheriff, his bleeding-heart daughter, the police department and the politicians. Well-realized film has a strong, focused script and excellent-as-usual work from sturdy Brian Keith as the sheriff. Good entertainment for adults and older children.
