Bing is the MC in this special Christmas themed-episode. The highlight is the appearance of the cast of Hogan's Heroes, which was produced by Crosby's own company. The low point is when a duet of faux Nazis Werner Klemperer and John Banner sing "Silent Night" in the original German. Also: a clown does an act where he's broken into three midgets, and a dog act where the dog won't co-operate.

This is one of the best Palace shows with the emphasis on music and dance. And that should be no surprise since the host is the great Fred Astaire. Fred opens with "I'm Putting All My Eggs In One Basket" and "Steppin' Out with My Baby," and then talks about what's 'in' and what's 'out,' Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass play "Lonely Bull" and "What Now My Love," Louis Nye does a comedy routine about school pageants, Kermit the Frog and the Muppets perform, Helen O'Connell sings a medley of her hits - "All of Me," "Yours," "Embraceable You," "Amapola," "Green Eyes," and ...
