Gomer is asked to take out Colonel Gray's daughter, Janice, because the colonel feels that Gomer is very safe. Gomer intends to take her to the movies but Janice, who has been attending an all women's college, has some very different ideas on how to spend an evening, which include going to a discotheque. Gomer winds up losing her and calls Sgt. Carter to help find her. Eventually they track her down to a wild party in Hollywood. Unfortunately, Janet's dress accidentally get's torn and they all are arrested for disturbing the peace. Now they must find a way to explain to the colonel what happened and try not to get into even hotter water.

Season 5, Episode 21: Gomer Maneuvers

The Marines send Carter's and Hacker's platoons to maneuvers. Hacker tricks Gomer into giving the location of Carter's tents, so they have to move in the middle of the night. Carter accidentally raids a girl scout camp, due to faulty information from Pyle. Carter sends Pyle back to the base. Pyle is captured by Hacker, and then escapes. Pyle visits the girl scouts, Hacker's platoon raids. Carter platoon right behind them, capturing Hacker platoon. Hacker back at the base, pays the $50 lost the bet. A surprise twist at the end leaves Gomer smiling, and both Sargeants disappointed.

Miss Bunny has a sick cat but Gomer thinks the Sergeant is sick and dying. Gomer consults with Miss Bunny and then treats the Sergeant to warm milk and a ball with a bell.

Gomer gets stuck on Sergeant Carter's plane to Wichita without Carter knowing it; and then Carter keeps seeing Gomer everywhere he looks.

As the series ends Gomer requests a transfer to get out of Sergeant Carter's hair and the Sergeant kills the transfer. This series had great characters but poor writing often repeating the same plots in multiple shows season to season.
