Storyline

Young Harrison Destry, son of legendary lawman Tom Destry, had been a sheriff himself until he was framed and sent to prison. Now he roams about looking for the hombres that did him wrong. He's not the typical foolhardy hero, though, which made this Western series also comedic. Written by Ed Stephan <stephan@cc.wwu.edu>

I remember the them song more vividly than the show

I remember the them song more vividly than the show.

The show seemed to be modeled after Maverick somewhat, in that the hero often avoided conflict. The theme song was along those lines and went something like the.

Destry, where will you ride tomorrow? What will your legend say? Will it be called, a man on the run or a place in the sun, or a drifter who passed this way.

He was wild as the west and yet they say ... A fight was not his game... He'd rather gamble and laugh and love When trouble came this-a-way He'd ride that-a-way Destry was his name.
