A group of dogs chase a cat through a market; the cat jumps onto an unstable stacks of crates and finally falls, mortally wounding it. The cat is taken to a vet but is not treated properly and soon dies.

We see a dog with a bandaged broken leg, and we hear it was hit by a car.

Thomasina, the lead cat character, dies in the film and enters a world of other dead cats. We witness her funeral and burial, and it is very sad. Thomasina's owner, a very young girl, is visibly distressed throughout the film over the loss of her cat.
