Great example of Daffy despite mostly physical jokes
13 September 2003 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Green with envy over a butler who inherits his employer's millions, Daffy responds to an advert for a companion for a millionaire. When he gets to the mansion though, he finds that the house is protected by a bulldog. But the scent of money makes Daffy more persistent than ever.

The bitter, envy filled character of Daffy Duck is one of my favourite when he is used well. He is of course good at physical humour but it is also important to bring his character out as well. Here they do a good job with both the physical stuff and Daffy's character. The actual gags are nothing new but they are made funnier by Daffy. The actual punch-line is only so-so but most of the body of the cartoon is funny.

The dog is the usual brute - a non-character, but Daffy carries it most of the way. Overall this isn't startlingly inventive but it is old material well delivered by a good character despite the odd weakness or obvious joke.
